Gurugita chapter-1 sloka 28-30
Sri Sadgurubhyoh Namah
28. Kashikshetra nivasamcha jahnavi charanodakam |
Gururvishveswarasakshat tarakam brahma nishchayaha ||
Meaning : The place where Guru lives is Kashi. The water with which Guru's feet is washed is Ganga. Guru is personification of Vishweshwara and he is the saviour without doubt.
29. Guruseva gaya prokta dehasyaatakshayi vataha |
tatpaadam vishnu paadam syat tatradatta manastatam ||
Meaning : Serving Guru is pilgrimage to gaya, Guru's body is the imperishable banyan tree.
Guru's feet is the feet of Lord Vishnu and the mind gets concentrated easily on guru's feet.
30. Guru vaktre stitam brahma praapyate tat prasadataha |
Guror dhyaanam sadaa kuryaat purusham svairini yatha ||
Meaning : Eternal wisdom resides in the speech of Guru. One attains brahman-hood with the grace of Guru. Just as a devoted wife thinks of her husband, one should think of their Guru always.
