Gurugita chapter-1 sloka 25-27
Sri Sadgurubhyoh Namah
25. Shoshanam paapa pankasya deepanam jnana tejasaha |
Guroh padodakam samyak samsararnava tarakam ||
Meaning : The water with which Guru's feet is washed, has the power to remove all the sins, illuminate the intellect with wisdom, and helps for a smooth cross-over of samsara (The worldly existence of birth-death-rebirth cycle with pain and pleasure).
26. Ajnana mula haranam janma karma nivarakam |
Jnana vairagya siddhyartham Guru padodakam pibet ||
Meaning : For gaining wisdom and dispassion, one should drink the water with whicj Guru's feet is washed, which has the power to remove the root of ignorance, and puts an end to birth-death-rebirth cycle.
27. Svadesikasyaiva naamakirthanam, bhavedanantasya shivasya naamakirtanam |
svadesikasyaiva naamachintanam, bhavedanantasya shivasya naamachintanam ||
Meaning : Praising the name of Guru becomes praising the glory of Shiva. Remembering Guru's name is remembering Shiva's name.
