Mahabharata Sabhaparva Rajasuyika parva section 37
Sri Sadgurubhyoh Namah
Yudhistir runs after Sisupala and pacifies him. Bhishma says "Those who doesnt accept that Krishna is the foremost, need not be pacified. Krishna is the oldest one in the Universe. The kings gathered here are defeated once by Krishna in battle. We worship him not to gain anything, but because we know Krishna is the foremost by age and also in strength. Krishna is expert in the knowledge of the Vedas, and also excess of strength. Liberality, cleverness, knowledge of the Vedas, bravery, modesty, achievements, excellent intelligence, humility, beauty, firmness, contentment and prosperity--all are found in Krishna in abundance.
Krishna is the guru, the Snataka, the king, the friend, therefore we have worshipped Krishna first. Krishna is the origin of the universe and also dissolution of it.This universe sprung forth from him. He is the unmanifest primal cause (Avyakta Prakriti), the creator, the eternal. The intellect, the five elements, air, heat, water, ether, earth, and the four species of beings are all established in Krishna. The sun, the moon, the constellations, the planets, all the principal directions, the intermediate directions, are all established in Krishna. Therefore we worship him. Sisupala is a mere child, he doesnt know Sri Krishna.
