Gurugita chapter-1 Sloka 11-18

Sri Gurugita chapter-1 sloka 11-18
Sri Sadgurubhyoh Namah
Parvatyuvacha :
11) Aum namo deva devesha paraatpara jagadguroh |
tvaam namaskurvate suraasura narah sadaa ||
 
12) Vidhivishnu mahendraadhyairvandhyaha khalu sadaa bhavan |
namaskaroshi kasmai tvam namaskarashraya khilaha ||
 
13) Bhagavan sarva dharmajna vratanam vratanayakam |
bruhi me kripaya shambho guru mahatyamuttamam ||
 
14) Iti sampraarthitah shaashvan mahadevo maheswaraha |
anandabharitaha svaante parvatim idam abravit ||
 
Meaning :
Parvati asks Maheswara, 'O universal teacher, higher than highest. Gods, demons, and men always worship you. Brahma, Vishnu, Indra always prostrate to you always. Who are you prostrating to ? O Lord, knower of all dharmas, please narrate to me the glory of Guru, which is the best among dharmas.'
Mahadeva was overjoyed by parvati's questions, and spoke the following divine words.
 
Mahadeva uvacha :
15) Na vaktavyamidam devi rahasyaati rahasyakam |
na kasyaapi pura proktam tvad bhaktyartham vadami tat ||
 
16) Mama rupaasi devi tvamatastatkathayaami te |
lokopakaarakah prashno na kenaapi kritah puraa ||
 
17) Yasya deve paraa bhakti, yatha deve tatha gurou |
tasyaite kathita hyardhaha prakashante mahaatmanaha ||
 
18) Yo guruh sa shivaha, prokto, yah shivah sa gurusmrutaha |
vikalpam yastu kurvit sa naro gurutalpagaha ||
 
Meaning :
This secret of secrets was not revealed to anyone before, but I will tell you because of your great devotion to me. You are my own self, your question will benefit the whole world. No one has asked me this question before. Those who have great devotion to Lord and likewise towards Guru, such a person can understand this secret when told.
Guru is Shiva, declares all scriptures and Shiva is Guru. One should not make any distinction between Guru and Shiva. If one differentiates between Guru and Shiva, they will become guilty of the crime of uniting with Guru's wife.
