Bhima kills Jarasandha

Mahabharata Sabhaparva Jarasandha vadha parva section 20-25

Sri Sadgurubhyoh Namah

Bhima, Arjuna, Krishna disguise themselves as snataka brahmanas and enter the city of Magadha and request the audience of King Jarasandha. The king gives them audience and asks them what they want from him. Krishna tells him that they want to fight with him, at which Jarasandha expresses his surprise. He says " what injury have I done to you, who are you and why you want to fight with me". Krishna reveals that they are sons of Pandu, Bhima and Arjuna, and himself as the Sauri of Dwaraka. As Jarasandha has made many kings as captive and intend to sacrifice them, they came here to release the kings from prison and teach Jarasandha a lesson.

Jarasandha selects Bhima as opponent and there ensues a hand to hand combat between Bhima and him. Each of them is an expert in wrestling. They fought for 13 days continuously and on 14th day Jarasandha became fatigued. Bhima takes the opportunity and lifts Jarasandha in air and twirls him 100 times and breaks the back of Jarasandha into two by his knee.

At the death of Jarasandha , all the captive kings are released, Jarasandha's son Sahadeva is made the king, and Krishna, Bhima and Arjuna come back to Indraprastha and report to Yudhistir the slaying of Jarasandha.
