Mantra chanting

Sri Sadgurubhyoh Namah

Chanting of the mantra 'Om Namah Shivaya', can be done in two ways.

1) For those who think that they are the body+mind :

The universe is made up of two types of entities, namely

a) matter (Prakriti, Shakti, Energy)

b) spirit (Purusha, Shiva, Spirit)

Those who think that they are body+mind , are still at Prakriti level, viz, they are nothing but energy, or parvati. Chanting of the mantra 'Om Namah Shivaya' should be done as if Parvati is doing tapas for Parameswara.

2) For those who dont think :

These people are already beyond mind, and they are at the level of spirit/purusha, but still Sadhana is needed to be completely established as Sakshi or witness.

For them, the chanting should be done with the jnana (knowledge+wisdom) that,

Om is all that is there as Shiva/Spirit/Witness, and 'Na maha' (i is not there).
